Samsun Anatolian High School was first founded on 8th December 1955 in Samsun. Samsun is located in middle Black Sea Area .It is the largest city of the Black Sea area. The Turkish Ministry of Education first named it as Samsun College because it started its education in foreign language with 26 boarder students on 8th December 1955. The first graduates were in 1961-1962 educational years. In 1964-65 educational year 12 female extern students started their education. The school moved into todays school buildings which is located onto 30 decare area in 1971. In 1975 it was named as Anatolian High School and was one of the six high schools of Turkey. It is named shortly as SAL in this area.

SAL has a main building with a conference hall and many multi-purpose halls and classrooms. It has a sportshall, football field, two basketball and voleyball fields and a big schoolyard. It has 27 classrooms, 6 school administration rooms, 1 library, 3 laboratories, 1 computer laboratory and a school canteen. At the moment it has 730 students and 64 teachers.

In 1993 SAL became a curricula laboratory school and in December 2014 SAL has been choosen as a Project School continuing educating globally leading collegians and has taken place in many projects of our Educational Ministry. It has participated in many European Union granted projects and has a continuing European Comenius strategic partnership. SAL is actively attending Tübitak (Turkish Scientific and Tecnologic Survey Institution) Students Project contests and has won many awards in different branches and subjects. SAL has organized Tübitak Science Fairs for two times where many projects have been exhibited.

Many conferences on different subjects are held by proffesionals. Activities, projects, contests and courses are made according to the aim and interest of the students. Our school has different sport teams with many championships. It's folkdance group has also domestic and overseas awards. This term one of our student's painting was awarded on the first place in Unesco's "My Piece for Peace" contest.

Our school vista is to become a school educating students who will have contribution in our nations growth and progress and will be leaders in their fields.

SAL has students who have active learning with technological devices and choose their upper education according to their aims and abilities. As their previous graduates they will be able to have important roles in Turkey's future.
